This Privacy Policy explains how Video Maker Studios LLC, doing business as Funeral Video Maker (“Funeral Video Maker,” “FVM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use funeralvideomaker.com and the related video, memorial-page, keepsake, support, and assisted-service features (collectively, the “Services”).

Funeral and memorial materials can be deeply personal. Please read this Policy before submitting information about yourself or another person. If you do not agree with this Policy, do not use the Services.

1. Scope and controller

Video Maker Studios LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company doing business as Funeral Video Maker, is the business responsible for the personal information described in this Policy. This Policy applies to visitors, account holders, guests using a project link, purchasers, memorial contributors, assisted-service customers, affiliates, and people who contact support.

This Policy does not govern a third party’s independent website, application, or service, even when we link to it. A public memorial page may also contain information supplied by the customer who controls that memorial.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account and identity information: name or display name, email address, password credential, account identifiers, login and migration status, and guest-session identifiers.
• Project and memorial information: names, dates, life-story text, relationships, messages, timeline details, design and music choices, sharing settings, memorial visibility, revision requests, and other project instructions.
• Uploaded and generated media: photographs, video, audio, captions, thumbnails, rendered videos, generated assets, file metadata, and information needed to organize, render, deliver, or host that content.
• Purchase and fulfillment information: products selected, cart and order details, transaction status, billing and shipping information, tax information, discount or referral attribution, fulfillment status, and refund or dispute information. Payment providers process full payment-card or wallet credentials; we generally receive transaction identifiers, status, and limited payment details rather than full card numbers.
• Assisted-service and support information: contact details, uploaded materials, project notes, deadlines or service context you choose to provide, support messages, troubleshooting information, and communications with our team.
• Reviews and permissions: private feedback, publication choices, the exact permissions you grant for a quotation, name attribution, homepage feature, or memorial media, and records of later withdrawal.
• Memorial contributions: tribute text, contributor name, optional email, moderation status, and abuse-prevention information.

Information collected automatically

• Device and log information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring and requested pages, timestamps, approximate location derived from IP, diagnostic events, security events, and server logs.
• Cookies and similar technologies: session, account, cart, checkout, security, preference, referral, analytics, and advertising identifiers. These technologies may recognize a browser or device over time.
• Service activity: page and offer views, project and wizard progress, uploads, preview readiness, checkout and purchase events, and interactions with links or controls. FVM-controlled analytics rejects free-form memorial text, names, email addresses, credentials, signed URLs, and other unapproved fields before durable storage.

Information from other sources

We may receive information from payment and commerce providers, fulfillment vendors, cloud and rendering providers, analytics and advertising providers, referral partners, social platforms when you interact with our presence there, fraud-prevention services, and another person who lawfully submits content or purchases a service for you.

3. Sensitive and third-party content

Memorial content may reveal health, religious, family, or other sensitive facts about living or deceased people. The Services are not a medical-record service, funeral home, healthcare provider, or HIPAA-covered service. Do not submit Social Security numbers, full financial-account numbers, government identifiers, medical records, genetic data, passwords, or other information that is not reasonably needed to create or fulfill the tribute.

If you submit information about another living person, you represent that you have authority or another lawful basis to do so and that your submission respects that person’s privacy, publicity, and intellectual-property rights.

4. How we use information

We use personal information to:

• create and maintain accounts, guest sessions, projects, previews, rendered videos, memorial pages, share links, downloads, and revisions;
• process purchases, taxes, refunds, fraud checks, entitlements, physical fulfillment, shipping, and customer support;
• provide assisted-service work and communicate about deadlines, materials, approvals, and delivery;
• authenticate users, preserve ownership and memorial-video pairing, prevent abuse, investigate incidents, and protect the Services and our users;
• operate, debug, measure, and improve the Services, including aggregate or de-identified reporting;
• send transactional messages and, where permitted, marketing communications that you can unsubscribe from;
• administer separately recorded permissions for reviews, attribution, and memorial media;
• comply with law, enforce our Terms, establish or defend legal claims, and complete corporate transactions; and
• carry out another purpose disclosed when information is collected or that you direct or consent to.

5. Automated and AI-assisted processing

The Services use automated and AI-assisted tools to help organize project information, generate or select creative elements, prepare themes, and render or review media. Outputs can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable. You remain responsible for reviewing names, dates, text, images, rights, and the finished result before publication or use.

We and our contracted providers may process project instructions or content only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the contracted Services, subject to their applicable terms and safeguards. We do not intentionally use customer memorial content ourselves to train a general-purpose model for an unrelated purpose without separate permission.

The Services do not use automated processing to make decisions about employment, housing, credit, education, healthcare, insurance, or another similarly significant eligibility decision.

6. How we disclose information

We may disclose personal information to the following recipients for the purposes described above:

• Cloud, hosting, storage, rendering, and technology providers that operate WordPress, databases, queues, media storage, video processing, security, and delivery infrastructure.
• Payment, commerce, tax, fraud, and accounting providers that process checkout, transactions, refunds, and required records.
• Fulfillment and shipping providers that produce and deliver personalized QR keepsakes or other physical products.
• Email, support, communications, and assisted-service providers that help us answer requests and complete customer work.
• Analytics, attribution, and advertising providers. When a browser explicitly allows optional analytics and advertising, the public site may use technologies associated with Google, Meta, Automattic/Jetpack, WooCommerce, and referral or affiliate measurement. These providers may then receive device identifiers, IP address, page or commerce activity, and cookie information under their own terms.
• Professional advisers and authorities when reasonably necessary for legal, security, insurance, tax, accounting, or compliance purposes.
• Transaction participants in a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal requirements.
• Other recipients at your direction or with your consent.

Service providers may use information only for contracted or legally permitted purposes. We may also disclose aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be linked to an individual, and we will not attempt to re-identify it except to test whether de-identification works.

7. Public memorials, sharing, and reviews

A project and its uploaded materials are not made public merely because you create a draft. A customer can, however, choose to publish a memorial page, create a share link, submit a public tribute, or separately authorize a review. Information published in those ways can be viewed, copied, indexed, saved, or reshared by other people and search engines. We cannot control copies made outside the Services.

Review text, name attribution, homepage placement, and memorial media are separate permissions. We publish only the portions covered by current recorded permission. Contact us to withdraw future publication permission; removal from our Services does not guarantee removal from third-party caches or copies.

8. Cookies, analytics, advertising, and privacy choices

We use necessary technologies for security, authentication, carts, checkout, account and guest continuity, preferences, and requested features. Optional analytics, attribution, and advertising technologies are off by default and are used only after this browser explicitly allows them, to understand site use, measure campaigns, and improve offers. Some state laws may treat disclosure of identifiers or activity to advertising providers as a “sale” or “sharing” even when no money changes hands.

We do not knowingly sell personal information for money. If you explicitly allow third-party analytics and advertising technologies as described above, applicable law may treat some resulting disclosures as sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. You may withdraw that choice at any time.

FVM also treats a recognized Global Privacy Control signal or enabled Do Not Track signal as an opt-out for FVM-controlled analytics and known optional tags, and those signals override an earlier allow choice. Browser settings, ad-platform controls, and content blockers may provide additional control. Clearing cookies can remove a saved browser choice, after which optional technologies return to the off-by-default state.

You may also request an opt-out by using our Support page or emailing funeralvideomaker@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy Request.” We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

9. Legal bases for processing

Where a law requires a legal basis, we rely on one or more of the following: performance of a contract or steps you request before entering one; our legitimate interests in operating, securing, supporting, and improving the Services; compliance with legal obligations; protection of vital or legal interests; and consent when required. You may withdraw consent for future processing, but withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully completed.

10. Retention and deletion

We retain information for the period reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, including to provide active accounts, projects, purchased downloads, hosted memorials, support, fulfillment, security, and dispute handling. Retention depends on account and project status, purchase and refund obligations, memorial publication choices, backup cycles, legal requirements, and the need to establish or defend claims.

We may retain transaction, tax, fraud-prevention, consent, and legal records after other content is deleted. Deleted information may remain temporarily in restricted backups until the applicable backup cycle expires. Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained longer.

Hosted memorial pages and project media are not guaranteed permanent storage. Keep your own copy of every important photograph, recording, document, and finished video. You can request account or content deletion through Support; we will honor the request subject to verification, technical feasibility, public-content dependencies, legal exceptions, and contractual obligations.

11. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for the nature of the information and Services. These include access restrictions, scoped credentials, encrypted connections, private storage paths, signed links, backups, monitoring, and validation at service boundaries. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, or misuse will never occur.

You are responsible for using a unique password, protecting project and share links, limiting who receives public or editor access, keeping local backups, and notifying us promptly of suspected unauthorized activity.

12. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and whether a law applies to us, you may have rights to request access, confirmation, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, or information about categories of collection, use, and disclosure. You may also have a right to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling, and to appeal a denied request.

Submit a request through our Support page or email funeralvideomaker@gmail.com with the subject “Privacy Request” or “Privacy Appeal.” Describe the account, project, or request without emailing sensitive memorial content. We may verify your identity, authority, and residency before acting. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted, but we may require proof of authorization and direct verification from the consumer.

We will respond within the period required by applicable law. We may deny or limit a request when we cannot verify it or when an exception applies, and we will explain the basis when legally required. You may complain to the privacy or data-protection authority where you live.

13. United States state disclosures

In the preceding 12 months, we may have collected and disclosed for business purposes the categories described in Sections 2 and 6: identifiers; customer records; commercial information; internet or network activity; approximate geolocation; audio, visual, and similar content; inferences and project preferences; and information that may be sensitive depending on what a user submits. We use those categories for the purposes in Section 4 and retain them as described in Section 10.

We do not knowingly sell personal information for money. Our use of analytics and advertising technologies may be considered sale, sharing, or targeted advertising under some state laws. Use Your Privacy Choices to opt out. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 18.

14. Children

The Services are for adults and are not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, purchase, or control a project. A memorial may include information about a child only when submitted by an authorized adult with the necessary rights and permissions. If you believe a child provided personal information directly without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.

15. International use and transfers

Funeral Video Maker is operated from the United States and is primarily intended for United States users. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws. Where required, we use legally recognized transfer safeguards or rely on another lawful transfer basis.

16. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the Services, providers, law, or data practices. We will post the updated version with a new date and provide additional notice when required. Material changes apply prospectively unless law permits otherwise.
