Marjean Ivette Howard
Marjean was married twice and was the proud mother of five children. When she was widowed at just 40 years old, she did what came naturally to her: she rolled up her sleeves and got to work. Often holding at least two jobs at a time, she raised her children on her own with grit, humor, and a fierce determination that became her trademark. She enjoyed a long career with the Highline School District and as an ESL tutor, retiring in 2009. Never one to stop growing, she earned her associate’s degree through night school at the age of 55, proving to her children that it is never too late to learn.
Those who knew Marjean knew her sparkling blue eyes, her sharp wit, and her wonderfully sarcastic sense of humor. She loved music, dancing, and being gloriously silly. She was a gifted gardener, a passionate crafter, and an adventurous traveler who taught her family to pack light, stay curious, and represent their country well. She cherished time outdoors, whether camping or simply enjoying the countryside, and nothing made her happier than being surrounded by her grandchildren.
Marjean was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Howard Sr.; her son, Armando Howard; her father, William H. Jepson jr.; her mother, Nora M. Aronne; her grandfather William H Jepson Sr.; Her grandfather Joseph Aronne; her grandmother Eloise (Bibi) Aronne; and her nephew Derek Morgan. She is survived by her daughters, Jessica E. Buck, Renee Y. Pollock, and Ileana M. Howard; her son, George L. Howard Jr.; her sister, Arline Garcia; her brother, Paul Jepson; and her remaining seven grandchildren; Joshua Hassing; Coby Doubek; Shanti Varma; Om Varma; Sid Varma; Vali Howard; and Kyrie Howard.
Marjean was laid to rest at Washington Memorial Park in Federal Way, Washington. Her Celebration of Life was held in Woodinville, Washington on Easter Sunday, 2026 - which was Marjean's favorite holiday.
" Lord, you loved her greatly in this life: Now that she is freed from all its cares, give her happiness and peace forever."
